Oversized Items:
Fairfax County offers special collection of household items that are too large to collect with a standard garbage truck. Some examples of this include a stove, refrigerator, or couch. Your base service fee includes a limit of 2 special collections per address per fiscal year (July 1 – June 30). Special collections are limited to 12 cubic yards of sorted loose materials (brush, bulk, metal, and Freon containing items such as refrigerators, freezers or dehumidifiers), or approximately 5 feet x 6 feet x 10 feet. Special collection is for residential use only.
